Prayer Suggestion #13

Today, we begin our feast in prayer for the children and their families living in poverty. I plan to have ideas throughout the day to aid in your prayers for children living in poverty. If you are stuck not knowing how to pray for children and their families for 20 minutes or longer for some, you are welcome to stop by and get some ideas. They will be simple and not meant to take away from how the holy spirit guides you through your prayer.

One of the ways that Compassion sponsored children receive support is through letters from their sponsors. It is probably one of the most valuable tools in helping children living in poverty. I'm am always saddened to hear about the stories of children who do not receive letters from their sponsors. Through letters, children receive encouragement in their spiritual walk, affirmation as a person, and hope for a future. They see that someone, somewhere across the world prays for them and cares about them.

It's not always easy to know what to say. Please pray for the sponsors to be clear in their love for their sponsored child through their letters. Ask God to move them to scripture that will continue to encourage their child and his family. Please pray for the children who do not receive letters. It is devastating to these little ones. Ask God to help the children understand it has nothing to do with them as a child, but some times just a lack of understanding on the sponsors part. Pray that God opens up sponsors hearts to start writing to their children.

If you sponsor a child, write to them right now.
